Columbia County's libraries are getting busier every year! In 2009:

  • A record 568,816 books were checked out at the Columbia County libraries in 2009.
  • 58,468 county residents have library cards.
  • Over 63,458 public computer logins were accrued in 2009.
  • Our reference librarians answered 92,701 information inquiries.
  • 22,861 people attended library programs.
  • Circulation in Richmond county for Fiscal Year was 545,220. Circulation in Columbia County for the same period was 568,816, making us the most visited and used libraries in the area. Way to go!
  • If you take the price of the average book and multiply it by the number of books checked out last year, it amounts to $11,376,320 – over eleven million dollars that people saved by borrowing materials from the Columbia County libraries in one year!
