Notice to Property Owners and Occupants

Georgia Law (OCGA 48-5-264.1) requires property owners and occupants be provided reasonable
notice prior to a site visit conducted by or on behalf of the Columbia County Tax Assessors.

When will I receive my assessment notice?
The Tax Assessors Office usually mails assessment notices to property owners in May of each year. However, new legislative changes were made for 2009 and our software must be updated
to support those changes.  We anticipate that the notices will be mailed sometime in July or August.

Assessment notices were mailed August 14, 2009. 
The last day to appeal is September 28, 2009.
