Our mission, as part of the Columbia County Recreation Department, is to offer quality customer service to the citizens of Columbia County by striving to enrich their lives by providing opportunities through programs and activities during their leisure time.
 
Trails are open sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week. A map is posted on the front door of the education building.
 
 
Birthday Parties for Children ages 5 and Up: Does your child enjoy nature and the outdoors? Then sign up for a birthday party at Reed Creek Nature Park and Interpretive Center. All About Frogs
Join us for this indoor and outdoor program to learn about our local frogs and how we're studying them through a calling survey at Reed Creek. We'll go outdoors to listen to frogs using the calling survey protocol. For ages 5 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required by calling 706-210-4027 or email ehobbs@columbiacountyga.gov. Members: free; non-members: $2/child.

Pond Exploration
With dip nets in hand, children will explore and learn about what animals live in our pond. Be prepared to get a little wet and muddy. For ages 5 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Wilderness Survival
This is a fun program for those interested in backcountry camping or anyone wanting tips in emergency survival skills. We'll go over "do's" and "don'ts" for dressing for the wilderness and what to bring when you go camping, ways to signal for help, as well as tips on making fires and shelter in the wilderness (without matches or a tent). For all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required by calling 706-210-4027 or email ehobbs@columbiacountyga.gov. Members: free; non -members: $2/child.

Insect Investigation
Join us in learning about our six-legged friends as we catch and release insects with bug nets in different areas of the park. For ages 5 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Our Nature Clubs encourage children to explore the natural world with indoor and outdoor activities including pond and creek exploration, crafts, and more! Pre-registration is required by calling 706-210-4027.  $25.00/child.

Adopt-a-Stream Training for Adults
Join local volunteer Mike Reardon to learn how you can collect important data each month on the health of a local stream for the state of Georgia.  You may register for this adult program by calling 706-210-4027.
