The Columbia County Sheriff's Office E9-1-1 Communications Center is recognized as a nationally accredited Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). Our Communications Accreditation was received in December 2004 through the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Accreditation recognizes professional excellence.
Each console is equiped with an TTY machine for the hearing impaired callers. We also provide service to non-English speaking callers through the Language Line, a translation service that covers many different languages. They handle translation of common languages as well as obscure languages and dialects. Spanish speaking Communications Officers and Deputies are also employed by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
