Columbia County Stormwater Compliance Department is partnering with Reed Creek Nature Park & Interpretive Center to host a stream clean up at Reed Creek Park! This event is part of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division Program “Rivers Alive”. Litter and other pollutants in this community get washed into local waterways during rain events, often through the stormwater system. This system is designed to transport clean rain water, untreated, to our waterways to help mitigate urban flooding.
We need volunteers for a variety of tasks; from those willing to put on waders and get in the creek to those interested in clearing the banks and more! Please join us as we gather at Reed Creek Nature Park & Interpretive Center to help clean up the park and the nearby section of Reed Creek. Then hang out afterwards for a picnic in the park on our grass field, please pack lunch and bring any blankets or chairs needed to be comfortable. Come help keep our waterways and community clean and beautiful!
Register to volunteer.
