Environment Matters Lunch & Learn Series
2018 Environment Matters Lunch & Learn Series
Columbia County Environmental and Stormwater departments along with UGA Extension Columbia County Agricultural Agent Tripp Williams, and Georgia Master Naturalist Margaret Alligood are excited to bring you the 2018 Brown Bag Lunch & Learn Series.
This series will bring citizens informative, positive, upbeat presentations on environmental and water based topics of interest. The first session includes ways you can help prevent pollution to our water resources and our area's watershed protection from Georgia Naturalist Margaret Alligood and a county employee "mystery guest speaker"; also a riveting full lesson from county agent Tripp Williams with valuable tips for us all.
The kick-off date is set for Wednesday, February 21st from 11:30 - 12:30 at the Evans Library (Meeting Room B). The following lunch and learns will be held the third Wednesday of every month, same time (11:30 - 12:30). Each session will be held at the Evans Library (7022 Evans Towne Center Blvd) in meeting room B and C.
Topic in June: Georgia Master Naturalist, Margaret Alligood will be developing & discussing a new “ Environmental Education” public outreach project that will consist of select attendees and volunteers from the brown bag lunch series. The June “Mystery Guest Speaker” will be one of our local leaders from the Georgia Adopt-A-Stream organization. They are a Georgia volunteer group that monitors water quality in several of our natural water resource locations. Come hear details on what this helpful organization does and if you would like to become a volunteer what all it encounters. County Agent, Tripp Williams, will be teaching us the importance of pollinators to our ecosystem and ways we can help keep them abundant.
There is no cost to attend.
