Columbia County Historic Resource Survey

Post Date:08/16/2018 10:02 AM

Columbia County's Planning Department spearheaded a Historic Resources Survey as part of the county's Vision 2035 plan.

It has been 25 years since the county has done a survey of its historic resources. The Planning Department worked with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping to help identify public works projects; planning and zoning; and even traffic flow. From the survey and with the help of GIS, citizens can now view the results of the survey through the Columbia County Historic Resource Survey Viewer.

Citizens can view approximately 219 resources and filter their findings within the application. Citizens can view resources constructed in the 1800 and 1900s.

Learn more about the survey through an article written by the Columbia County News Times.
