Message from County Manager, Scott D. Johnson

Whether you are a citizen of our county or visiting with us for a while, I hope you love Columbia County as much as I do! I am honored to serve as the County Manager of one of the fastest growing counties in the state of Georgia and in the country. Columbia County offers a wonderful quality of life; from our parks, greenspace and fun community events to our many friendly neighborhoods and our award winning school system, there is something for everyone in our great community!

One thing I take pride in is the fact that Columbia County encompasses a diverse group of talented individuals, who come from all walks of life and work together to make our county exceptional. As a result of this, coupled with the tremendous amount of growth we've experienced as a county, we have developed our vision over time and now, we are taking it to the next level. Building on these strengths, we have created a concept that will further promote teamwork, eliminate bureaucracy, and encourage working together within the county-no matter what your job title or position. We have conceptualized the classic form of local government; we will strengthen the standards in place and focus on a CORE value, which I believe is PRIDE. In addition to a revamp of our current operations, we have created an acronym for PRIDE that we believe is the essence of what makes a great employee-Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, Excellence.
